Central North Carolina, including the Triangle area, can expect scattered rain and storms this week as a tropical system makes its way to the United States through the Gulf of Mexico.

This storm is likely to bring tropical storm force winds, heavy rain with a flash flooding potential, coastal flooding, and dangerous beach conditions to portions of the Southeastern US. If this low develops into a Tropical Storm, it will be named Helene.
