Controversial plans to build a “mega-resort” on the banks of Scotland’s Loch Lomond have been rejected by the national park authority, prompting celebrations from campaigners.

Save Loch Lomond is now entering into the second phase of its campaign after proposals from Flamingo Land to develop woodland lodges, hotels, a monorail, a water park and other facilities were rejected.

A final decision is due to be made later today on a controversial proposal to build a resort on the shores of Loch Lomond. The proposal - which features a waterpark and monorail - by theme park operator Flamingo Land has faced strong opposition since it was submitted in 2018.

Jackie Baillie MSP says Scottish Enterprise should go back to the drawing board and engage with the community to find a new use for the land.
