The world’s best hotels have officially been named for this year and remarkably, two Australian outposts have made the list. Brisbane’s The Calile and Hobart’s The Tasman have both been recognised as part of the World’s 50 Best Awards’ annual hotel ranking,

The World's 50 Best Hotels 2024 includes 19 renowned spots in Asia, 13 across Europe, 9 winners in North America, four hotels in Africa and more pristine destinations.

The Calile, a stylish and airy urban resort in the lively James Street area of Brisbane, Australia, was named Best Hotel in Oceania, ranking at No. 25. Last year it was the sole Aussie representative, but in 2024 it was joined by the Tasman in Hobart at No. 49.

Capella Bangkok topped the World’s 50 Best Hotels list, offering luxurious river views and a blend of nature and urban life. Sixteen Asian hotels, including the one in India, were recognised for their unique experiences.
