The Cincinnati Reds on Sunday night announced that they have fired manager David Bell. Bell, who was in his sixth season as Reds manager, had been under contract through the 2026 season. Bench coach Freddie Benavides will serve as the club's interim manager for the final five games of this season.

The search for a new manager for the Cincinnati Reds will begin immediately following the firing of manager David Bell after six seasons, president of baseball operations Nick Krall said.

The Reds aren't going to wait until the offseason as they seek a new manager. “We’re looking for somebody that can lead this clubhouse.”
