The Mankameshwar temple in Lucknow has banned offerings of prasad bought from outside due to concerns over adulteration. Devotees are now encouraged to bring homemade prasad or fruits. This decision follows allegations of substandard ingredients and animal fat being used in Tirupati laddus,

The ghee used for preparing Tirupati laddu was tested at a Gujarat-based National Dairy Board which found traces of "foreign fat".

Mahant Divyagiri issued an official notification requesting that devotees bring only homemade offerings or dry fruits for rituals inside the temple's sanctum sanctorum.

After the Tirupati laddu row in Andhra Pradesh, Lucknow's Mankameshwar Temple on Monday, banned offering prasad bought from the market, ANI reported. Speaking about the Tirupati Prasadam row, Mahant Divya Giri said, "We have taken an initiative in view of the Tirupati Prasadam row. There is always some adulteration in the food products."

As per the temple authorities, the move is aimed at ensuring the purity and safety of the offerings, protecting the temple’s traditions, and preventing any similar controversies that occurred in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati Balaji Temple.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accused the current government, led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, of using animal fat and substandard ingredients in the preparation of Tirupati laddus.

A great battle has erupted over the laddu prasadam of Tirupati Balaji temple. On one hand, the saint community is very angry after such serious allegations. On the other hand, the devotees who have faith in Balaji are deeply hurt.
