Fresno Firefighters were outside all day Tuesday battling a major fire at an abandoned building off Highway 99. Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig said the county was planning on selling the old morgue building until this fire.

The old Fresno County Coroner’s Office burned Tuesday morning. Fire crews responded to the abandoned morgue around 7:30 a.m. near Nielson and Highway 99. According to the Fresno Fire Department, crews on the scene were concerned that the building was going to collapse so they took a defensive approach to fighting
