Revelers celebrated to mark the official opening of the world’s largest folk festival, the 189th Oktoberfest in Munich.

A parade of thousands in traditional southern German costume paraded through Munich on Sunday morning to mark the second day of Oktoberfest, as many lined the streets to take in the sight. The parade included groups of traditional dancers as well as brewery carriages,

Oktoberfest has opened in Munich after the ceremonial beer keg-tapping. Mayor Dieter Reiter officially started the 189th Oktoberfest at noon when he inserted the tap into the first keg.
