As of 2:30 p.m., Georgia Power reported nine outages in the Macon-Bibb area, affecting 107 customers. The majority of those customers (96 households and businesses) are in Macon. An estimated restoration time was not available for the entire area, but several neighborhoods should see the power restored within the next two hours.

11:50 a.m. - While Macon didn’t see extreme damages, other parts of Georgia suffered from the severe weather. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced just before noon Friday that 11 people have died, and more have been trapped in collapsed homes.

Georgia Power is making final preparations for rebuilding efforts for Hurricane Helene, including over 10,000 personnel already on the ground. Georgia Power has also mobilized crews from 35 states to assist in the recovery process,

Officials with Alabama Power say they are fully prepared to support restoration efforts wherever needed after Hurricane Helene moves through.
